Summer Meal Program - Summertime brings a break from school... but the need for good nutrition doesn't take a break!

Learning does not end when school lets out. Neither does the need for good nutrition.
Harford County Public Schools has participated in the Summer Food Service Program for nearly 30 consecutive years.  

Available For Children & Teens When School Is Out.

  ⟩ FREE to ALL Children Aged 2 - 18.

  ⟩ NO Registration Required.

  ⟩ NO ID Required.

  ⟩ Healthy Meals Based on the USDA Nutrition Guidelines.

  ⟩ Served At Numerous Locations (meals must be eaten on site).

  ⟩ Children registered at the sites will be served meals first.

  ⟩ All Sites Will Be Closed Wednesday, July 4th.

  • Cereal Variety may include Trix, Golden Grahams, Apple Cinn Cheerios, Fruity Cheerios, Cinn Toast Crunch or a cereal bar.
  • Grahams may include: Sport Grahams, Dino Bites, Blueberry Lemon Grahams, Elf Grahams, Goldfish Crackers, Animal Crackers or Scooby Snacks.  Cheese sticks can be substituted for grahams while supplies last.
  • Bagged breakfast entrée alternate may include: any “Individually Wrapped” bread, donut, breakfast bun, muffin, etc.
  • Juice will only be served at breakfast time. Canned fruit cup includes: Mixed fruit, Sliced peaches or Diced pears (pre-portioned into 5 oz. cups with lids) and may be served in lieu of 4 ounce juice.
  • Milk (or a milk substitute like Lactaid or Soy Milk) will be sent with each breakfast. Lactaid and Soy Substitutions must be accompanied by a valid doctor’s note stating the allergy or intolerance.  Otherwise, cow’s milk will be served.

Deli Turkey & American Cheese on Wheat Bread

Chicken Breast on Roll

Bagged Lunch (serve as a complete meal, do not break down the bags)

  • Alternate bagged lunch entrée may include: Peanut Butter n Jelly Uncrustable (with a protein booster AND a grain booster), Bologna & Cheese, Turkey & Cheese, Italian cold cut, Ham & Cheese or any other combination thereof.  
  • Variety of fresh whole grain bread may include: Panini bread, Ciabatta bread, Sliced Wheat Bread, Hamburger Roll, Sub Roll or Wrap. Sandwiches will be prepared without lettuce and tomato.  Lettuce and tomato will be sent on the side to the sites; time tagged.
  • Milk (or a milk substitute like Lactaid or soy milk) will be sent with each lunch. Soy milk substitutions must be accompanied by a valid doctor’s note stating the allergy or intolerance. Otherwise, cow’s milk will be served. 
  • Fruit and vegetable choices should be a variety throughout the week. We will not offer juice at lunchtime. Canned fruit cup includes: Mixed fruit, Sliced peaches or Diced pears (pre-portioned into 5 oz. cups with lids) or pre-cupped mandarin oranges. Frozen fruit cups variety will be USDA peach or strawberry cups or J & J snack whole fruit cups.  
  • Upon request, a squeeze bottle of ranch dressing may be provided for fresh veggies. Mayo and Mustard packets (IW) will be provided for sandwiches.
